Gail Lynn Hoy

Gail Lynn Hoy, age 55, of Blackburn, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at his home.

Gail was born August 21, 1954 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Austin and Wilma (Winfrey) Hoy. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1972.

Gail was in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate. He served on the Kitty Hawk, Kalamazoo and the Enterprise.

After his discharge from the Navy, Gail worked for Versatile Tractor in Independence, Missouri as a parts manager. He was transferred to Vacaville, California and Versatile later sold to Ford-New Holland. Gail moved back to Blackburn and worked for Harmon Electronics in Buckner, Missouri. They sold to GE and Gail worked in Warrensburg, Missouri. Gail was baptized in the Lutheran Church and had attended Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was a member of the Blackburn American Legion.

Gail is survived by three children, Crystal Barnhert, State of Florida, Pamela Kay Head and husband, Ron, Blackburn, Missouri, Caitlyn Ivie, Sacramento, California, his mother, Wilma Teague, Richmond, Missouri, one brother, Ron Hoy and wife, Lois, Independence, Missouri, two sisters, Elaine Nolke and husband, Joe, Raytown, Missouri, Twila Wagner and husband, Gene, Lexington, Missouri, thirteen grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

His father and brother, Jim Hoy, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2010 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri, with a military service by American Legion #478 of Blackburn.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
