Eva M. Williams
Eva M. Williams, age 95, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at her home.
Eva was born January 27, 1915 in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of James Clement and E. Alice (Manning) Smith. She attended Winfrey School and graduated from Carrollton High School.
On September 28, 1935 she married Loren H. Williams in Lexington, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1994.
Eva was a homemaker, having lived in Coffeyville, Kansas, Welch, Oklahoma and Miami, Oklahoma. Upon returning to Carrollton, she and her husband owned several laundry and dry-cleaning businesses. Eva was a Methodist.
Eva is survived by two children, Karen K. Harsch, of the home, James J. Williams and wife, Ruth, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, one brother, Gerald Smith and wife, Bonnie, Carrollton, Missouri, two grandchildren, Cathy L. Baker and husband, David, Miami, Oklahoma, Joe Williams and wife, Mary, Citrus Heights, California, three great grandchildren, Brandon W. Baker, Miami, Oklahoma, Mira and Lyra Williams, Citrus Heights, California.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Rod McNeall officiating.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Village Hospice or Carrollton Public Library in memory of Eva. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.
