LaVena Fern (Warner) Houseworth
LaVena Fern Houseworth, age 86, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Life Care Center.
Fern was born April 10, 1924 in Dallas County, Missouri, the daughter of Loyd and Letha (Yates) Warner. She graduated from Waverly High School.
On June 26, 1943 she married Paul Evans Houseworth in Waverly, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2003.
Fern had worked at the Carrollton State School, Marshall Habilitation Center and for Home Care Mid-Missouri. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Carrollton.
Fern is survived by three sons, Lloyd Douglas Houseworth and wife, Linda, Fernandina Beach, Florida; Dennis Paul Houseworth and wife, Janet, Waverly, Missouri; David Alan Houseworth and Patty, Carrollton, Missouri; four daughters, Linda Fern Houseworth, Maineville, Ohio; Paula Jean Stahl and husband, Dennis, Marshall, Missouri; Wanda Ann Bartlett and husband, Roy, Carrollton, Missouri; two brothers, Hershel W. Warner, Lexington, Missouri; Phil E. Warner, Waverly, Missouri; one sister, Joyce Morrow, Waverly, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren.
Her parents, one daughter, Lisa Gayle Stahl; one brother, Paul L. Warner; and one sister, Vera Maxine Warner, also preceded her in death.
Visitation was held from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2010 at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial was in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Life Care Center in memory of Fern. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.
