Larry Mitchell "Buddy" Baxley, 68, of Salisbury, Mo died on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, MO, Friday, February 18, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Glen Gutz officiating. Visitation will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO, Thursday, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Salisbury City Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Rucker-McAllister Post # 7 American Legion of Brunswick, MO. Larry was born on August 19, 1942 at Brunswick, MO the son of Edgar and Veva Searcy Baxley. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1960 and later served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was married to Susan Bowen on April 19, 1980 at Salisbury, MO. He became Publisher of "The Brunswicker" Newspaper in 1983 and "The Salisbury Press-Spectator Newspaper" in 1988. He also enjoyed grafting pecan trees, hunting quail and deer, and raising sheep on his farm. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, the Missouri Press Association, the Missouri Nut Growers Association, Sons of the American Revolution, Rucker-McAllister Post # 7 American Legion of Brunswick and a former member of the Salisbury Jaycees. He is survived by his wife Susan of the home, one son, Trevan Baxley and his wife Temple of Greenwood, MO; two daughters, Niki Winkler and her husband Scott of Salisbury, MO and Lindsay Ostermann and her husband Michael of Salisbury, MO; two brothers, Phil Baxley and his wife Jackie of Huntsville and Charles Baxley and his wife Carolyn of Excelsior Springs, MO; four sisters, Pat Scheiderer and her husband Maurice of Salisbury, MO, Gloria Young of Corpus Christi, TX, Cynthia Langdan and her husband Rick of Marshall, MO and Cheryl Tietjens of Brookfield, MO; and three grandchildren, Miriar Baxley and Nolen and Sophie Winkler. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Gary Scheiderer, Mitchell, Scott and Chad Baxley, Bob Newsom and Larry Kaiser.
