Beverly M. Nelson

Beverly Nelson, 89, of Eagle, WI passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at her home.

Beverly was born on January 12, 1930 in rural Jefferson County Wisconsin the daughter of Curtis & Hazel (Bishop) Agen. She grew up in Palmyra, WI and graduated from Palmyra High School in 1948. On June 20, 1949 she was united in marriage to Gerald (Lefty) Nelson in Waukegan, IL. God blessed Beverly and Gerald’s marriage with two children. Beverly was a homemaker for the majority of her life. However, she was definitely not afraid to get her hands dirty. She was very hands on at the family farm with chores. If something needed to be done, she did it herself. Beverly enjoyed playing cards, rummaging, collecting, and camping. She also loved to get a good deal and was an avid bargain hunter. Her loving family jokes that she would drive 100 miles for a 10 cent deal. In her later years, Beverly enjoyed traveling with her husband. She and Lefty traveled throughout the United States together and she had fond memories of those times. Beverly was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by: her 2 children, Karen (Glenn) Steffen of Rosholt, WI and Chuck (Jean) Nelson of Eagle, WI; her 6 grandchildren, Steve Steffen, Amy (Bill) Kulick, Holly (Greg) Holt, Craig (Leslie Schott) Steffen, Nels (Katrina) Steffen, and Robbie (Christina) Nelson; and 20 great grandchildren. Beverly is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 42 years, Gerald Nelson, and 4 siblings.

A private family service will be held to honor Beverly’s life.
