Louis A. Whitney, 92, of Palmyra, WI passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at his home on Blue Spring Lake.
Louis was born on October 31, 1926 in Chicago, IL the son of Louis and Elsie (Broderson) Whitney. After graduating high school, Lou was drafted in to the Army-Air Force at the end of World War II. After serving his country, he graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Business. On February 26, 1949 Lou was united in marriage to Peggie L. Forsythe and their union was blessed with two loving sons. Lou and Peggie would enjoy 64 years of marriage together until her death in March of 2013. Lou worked in finance for the majority of his career and spent his last 25 years at Barton-Aschman & Associates Engineering Firm in Evanston, IL, retiring as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. For leisure, Lou loved Chicago sports. He was a fan of the Cubs and Blackhawks and a Bears season ticket holder for many years. A tradition he passed along to his son. Above all else, Lou loved his family. He was happiest spending time and making memories with those he loved. He will be dearly missed.
Lou is survived by: his loving sons, Ross (Debbie Doherty) Whitney, and David (Sally) Whitney; his grandsons, Kevin (Jennifer) and Alan (Kelly), and his great grandchildren, Kailee, Riley, Colin, and Hunter.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggie, his parents, and a sister.
A private family service will be held to honor Lou’s life.
