Agnes S. Prescott, age 106, of Troy Center, WI passed away on June 11, 2023 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Agnes was born on March 28, 1917 in the Town of Lake (now Milwaukee), WI the daughter of George and Sophie (Miller) Martin. She grew up in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Bay View High School with the class of 1935. On May 14, 1937 she was united in marriage to William Prescott at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Milwaukee. William and Agnes would go on to enjoy 58 years of marriage together until William’s death in 1996. The Lord blessed their union with two sons, Michael and Patrick. Agnes’ family owned a cottage in Troy Center and she became very fond of the area and eventually, her and William decided to move out of Milwaukee to Troy Center and would remain in the area for the remainder of their lives. Agnes worked as a caregiver early in life, but the majority of her working years were spent caring for her family. She was a talented cook and baker and made sure to keep her husband and children well fed. Even in her final days, Agnes could be found in the kitchen baking a recipe from her extensive recipe box. Agnes was feisty and opinionated and did not hesitate to tell others her true feelings. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially appreciated watching birds and butterflies. In her younger years, she enjoyed tending her flower garden and was a member of the Iris Society. She was also a member of various card clubs and enjoyed socializing with the other club members. After her husband William’s retirement, the couple did quite a bit of traveling. Their adventures took them to Europe twice and various cruises. Agnes and William made many fond memories during their travels together and enjoyed those times very much. Agnes was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be dearly missed, but her long and full life will be forever remembered by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by: her son, Patrick Prescott of Troy Center; her daughter-in-law, Judy (the late Michael) Prescott of Troy Center; her grandchildren, Tracey (Jim) Raymond of Troy Center, Michael (Stephanie) Prescott, Jr. of Ferryville, WI, and Justin (Stephanie) Prescott of Burlington; and her great-grandchildren, Shaun, Jenna, Maggie, Clara, and Wallace.
