Audrey Irene Lansdowne, 100, of Walworth, WI, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, passing peacefully at home where she lived with her daughter, Nancy, for the last 25 years, surrounded by loving family.

Born on April 30, 1925, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to Arlington and Cora Belle (Sharp) Woodring, Audrey’s life was a testimony to faith in Jesus Christ, quiet strength, and heartfelt service. She graduated from Altoona High School and, at the end of her high school career during World War II, stepped up to support her country as a factory worker, aiding the war effort. Even as a young woman, Audrey showed the kind of courage, patriotism, and virtue that would define her entire life.

On May 1, 1946, Audrey was united in marriage to Ellington Horace Lansdowne of Madison, WI — a man who had served as a Former Flight Instructor (FFI) in the US Army Air Corps and later, a private flight instructor and firefighter for the City of Madison. God blessed their union with seven children: Susan, Jeanne, Nancy, Jeffrey, Amy, Debra, and Robert. Together, Audrey and Horace built a home filled with love, faith, and purpose.

Audrey’s life was marked by a steadfast devotion to her Savior. She lived every day as a reflection of her belief in Jesus Christ, and this was most evident in the way she raised her children under the guidance of the Lord at Westwood Christian Church in Madison. There, she served faithfully — teaching Sunday School, attending women’s ministry, and always seeking ways to nurture faith in others. She also devoted time to the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, standing for principles that mattered deeply to her heart.

Those who knew Audrey will remember her gentle spirit, her calming presence, and her delightful sense of humor. She radiated kindness, grace, and wisdom, making everyone feel seen and cherished. She loved the beauty of flowers, long peaceful drives, the quiet joy of reading, and the wonder of watching birds and small animals. Her faith often overflowed in song — she delighted in singing hymns and worshiping her Savior alongside her loved ones.

Above all, Audrey loved her family. Her children were her joy, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her delight. She shared a special bond with them, offering not just her time, but her heart. Her love was steady and abundant — rooted in prayer, expressed in hugs, highlighted by her beautiful smile, and often wrapped in laughter.

Audrey will be sincerely missed, but her family takes great comfort in knowing she is now in Heaven with her Savior — fully restored, joyfully singing, and reunited with her beloved husband Horace and daughter Amy. Her legacy is one of deep faith, enduring love, and selfless service.

She is survived by her children :Susan Lansdowne of Felton, CA, Jeanne (Cary) Brooks of Victoria, Canada, Nancy (William) Bensheimer of Walworth, WI, Jeffrey (Debra) Lansdowne of Rochester, MN, Debra (Don) Fried of Northfield, MN, Robert Lansdowne of Marietta, GA.

Audrey is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Erica (Adrian), Alyssa (Jeff), Julie (Mark), Scott, William Ryan (Krista), Jessie, James (Jisoon), Blair (Alicia), Kelly (Jeff), Shannon (Jason), Harrison, Spud (Algae), Lucy, and Eli; and her great-grandchildren: Finn, Aspen, Evan, Ridge, Aria, Rhett, Sonnet, Ty, Will, Kade, Reid, Tyler, Tanner, Noelle, Logan, Lizzy, Colin, and Bridget.

She is also survived by extended family in Pennsylvania and beyond.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, her beloved husband Horace, and her daughter Amy O’Connor.

To know Audrey was to be blessed by her love, to be uplifted by her faith, and to witness a quiet strength that never faltered. Her life was a beautiful example of what it means to walk with the Lord. Though her earthly journey has ended and she is now in heaven, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
