BECKY C. ZIMMERMAN (Obituary)
As the beautiful sun set peacefully behind the Texas hills on December 12, 2024,
Becky C. Zimmerman took one last ride, as she traveled that mysterious and glorious journey to be with the Lord.
“Evolution of a Cowgirl” is the title Becky gave to a book she wrote about her own life. Each chapter shares an insight into her life.
Becky was born in Portland, Oregon on July 13, 1953. She attended Oconomowoc High School and the University of Whitewater in Wisconsin. She married Loren Zimmerman in the Siloam Church of rural Palmyra, on May 3, 1980.
The path of Becky’s life’s journey continued on the Open Highways throughout the United States, where she joined Loren trucking. She even learned how to drive their 18 wheeler.!
Becky grew up in the world of horses, schooled in Veterinary Science, and she also achieved a teaching degree from the University of Whitewater in Science and Physical Education.
“Free Spirited and Strong Willed”, this “Outdoor Woman”, swiftly guided her quarter horse through the courses of competitive barrel races! She won many awards and trophies in various competitive horse events, including winning the Quad State Championship Barrel Racing Event and also winning the National Finals!
With a gentle hand, Becky cared for and trained several horses. She even learned how to shoe a horse and became a certified “Ferrier.”
Becky was called a “Life Counselor” for people throughout the world. Her poetry touched and inspired many! Her experiences with people, rodeo life, outdoor life, and working with animals provided Becky with a fresh supply of poetic thoughts daily. Perfectly at home on the Range or on the internet, she would share a poem each day with friends, old and new.
Becky’s other creative talents included drawing, painting, and making jewelry. Her creativity also extended into writing poetry and short novels where she was called by her pen name of “Dwhisperer!”
In her later years in life she had become a profiler and consultant, working with many police departments, agencies and companies global wide; coming into contact with a universal wide range of people,
Becky and Loren managed several RV Trailer Campgrounds in Wisconsin, Texas, and New Mexico, where they provided shelter, food, entertainment and love, for a multitude of people with diversified backgrounds!
Becky’s biggest passion was her love of cooking, which she shared with everyone wherever she went.
While we can no longer sit at her table and enjoy her delicious food, Becky’s Spirit lives on in the Kindness she showed to others and their Memories of Special Times together!
