Bonnie C. Ireland

Bonnie C. Ireland, 64, of Eagle, WI went home to Heaven on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Bonnie was born on March 12, 1958 in Memphis, TN the daughter of Eugene and Margaret (Meek) Grooms. She moved to Milwaukee at a young age due to her father's job change and the family moved just around the corner from Bonnie's future husband, Duncan. On September 3, 1977 Bonnie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Duncan Ireland in Milwaukee and the two would go on to enjoy 45 years of marriage together. They were blessed with two loving sons, Duncan, Jr., and Clinton. Bonnie worked in a few different jobs during her life. The majority of her career was spent at the Ambrosia Chocolate Factory and she later worked as a Nurses Aid at Sunrise Nursing Home in Milwaukee, retiring in 2008. Bonnie was an optimist. She looked at the world through a positive lens and everything was beautiful in her eyes. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the birds on her feeders in her backyard. Bonnie loved her family fiercely and would do anything for those closest to her. She appreciated good music, loved the color purple and the Christmas season was her favorite time of year.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandma and she will be greatly missed but forever remembered by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by: her loving husband of 45 years, Duncan Ireland of Eagle, WI, her two dear sons, Duncan (Lisa) Ireland, Jr. of Eagle, WI; and Clinton Ireland of Eagle, WI; her loving grandchildren, Nevaeh, Duncan, Ill., Landon, Angeleena, Akacia, Frederick, and Scarlet Rose; and her siblings, Ricky (Barbara) Grooms of KY, Nancy Grooms of Milwaukee, WI, Felicia Grooms of Milwaukee, WI, Hazel Burrill of Milwaukee, WI, and Maggie (Tim) Peterson of NC.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers Frankie and David, and a son in infancy, Jamie.

A Funeral Service will be held to honor Bonnie's life on Tuesday, February 28 at 12 Noon at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Eagle, WI (499 Elkhorn Road, Eagle, WI 53119). The Rev. Ray Bezanson will officiate the service. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Bonnie will be laid to rest in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Eagle, WI immediately following the service.
