Carolyn Richardson Obituary

Carolyn Marie Richardson, age 85, of Oconomowoc, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by
family on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Carolyn, better known as “Carrie” to her recent friends, was born on April 22, 1940 in Chicago,
Illinois to Raymond and Emily (Tettenborn) Mammoser.

Her family moved to Barnes, WI in 1946 where they owned and operated Mammoser’s Sunset
Resort for 25 years. Carolyn was valedictorian of her Drummond High School class of 1958.
Carloyn met the love of her life at the young age of 16 when Roland (Rollie) Richardson stayed
at their resort while he was working for the Wisconsin DOT on a new highway in the area. They
married on September 10, 1960 and moved to Southern Wisconsin. They shared 54 wonderful
years together filled with love, laughter and family. Carolyn enjoyed volunteering at school
when the kids were young, followed by working at Community Memorial Hospital as a ward
clerk, HR at Flexi-Force and various positions in other health care settings. In retirement, Rollie
and Carolyn returned to Northern Wisconsin where they reunited with many old friends from
their younger years and thoroughly enjoyed their lake home.

Carolyn was always meticulous in everything she did. She was known for her excellent sense of
taste and style and her creativity. She had exceptional talent in sewing and decorating and all
homemaking skills. Her intellect was apparent to all. It was a rare occasion if anyone could beat
her at a game of scrabble.  Through the years, Carolyn enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles,
trivia, traveling, kayaking, shopping and making the perfect Old Fashioned.  She also enjoyed
making a comfortable and attractive home wherever she resided.

Carolyn is survived by: her brother Ronald (Joyce) Mammoser, brother-in-law Peter (Teresa)
Richardson, and by her three children; Scott (Colleen) Richardson, Heidi Schams and Sandi Bach.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Ryan (Robyn) Schams, Lauren (Juan Palomino)
Bach, Jamie Farina, Kelly (Cody) Pfennig, Carly (Jamie) Kempton, Jodi Richardson and Erin
(Matthew) Sorenson, and by her eleven great-grandchildren; Brayden, Hazel, Zeke, Beckett,
William, August, Sebastian, Ada, Hilde, Sienna and Jude with two more to arrive in March.
Carolyn was preceded in death by: her husband Rollie, sister-in-law Mary Jo Mammoser,
brother-in-law Donald Richardson and many other loved family members and friends.

A private family burial and celebration of life will take place in Eagle, WI in the spring, when the
weather warms and the flowers start blooming.

She loved her family dearly.
She will never be forgotten.
