Catherine E. Behlendorf

Catherine E. Behlendorf, 95, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Sunrise Meadows Senior Living of Brookfield.

Catherine was born on July 14, 1930 in Eagle, WI the daughter of Henry and Veronica (Gibson) Henricksen. She was raised in the Eagle area, moved to Sullivan, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1947. She spent the next 9 years working for a law firm and Wisconsin Electric. She was united in marriage to Larry Behlendorf on June 23, 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mukwonago. Catherine and Larry were blessed with four children, Cynthia, Suzanne, Steven and Lisbeth. Catherine was a loving wife and mother and took great care of her family. She and Larry enjoyed 65 years together and made many wonderful memories during their life. They lived in Wind Lake, WI and then moved to Bella Vista, AR for their retirement. Catherine moved back to Wisconsin in 2022 after the death of Larry. Catherine enjoyed dancing, waterskiing, playing cards, gardening, quilting, and collecting recipes. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those she leaves behind. She is survived by: daughters Cynthia Behlendorf, Suzanne Buntrock, Lisbeth Behlendorf; son Steven Behlendorf; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; her grandchildren Clare, Jacob, Sarah, and Joshua and numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine is preceded in death by her loving husband Larry, her parents, and 9 siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Eagle, WI (499 Elkhorn Road, Eagle, WI 53119). Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Catherine will be laid to rest next to her husband in Oak Ridge Cemetery immediately following the service. Lunch will be served in the funeral home social hall.
