David M. Rickett

David Melville Rickett, Sr., 96, of Sullivan, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at his home.

David was born on January 29, 1930 in Sidney, Montana the son of David E. and Susie L (Schliem) Rickett. After completing his schooling, David worked as a farmer for many years and then transitioned to a career as a machinist. David married Gwen L. Hirsh and the two were blessed with four children, Tami, David, Timothy, and Susan. David had many interests during his life. He was an avid gardener, he enjoyed playing bingo, taking pictures, ballroom dancing, traveling – especially to his home state of Montana, riding in hot air balloons and many other activities. Above his work and his interests, David’s family was the most important thing in his life. Everything he did, he did for those he loved. He will be remembered for his charisma, his sense of humor and his warm, friendly personality. He loved to spend time with his loved ones and make them laugh. David will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those he leaves behind.

David is survived by: two children, Tami (Alexander) Rickett-Lopez of Waukesha, and David Rickett, Jr. of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Andrew (Isabel) Lopez of Waukesha, Thomas Lopez of Waukesha, Jane Rickett of Waukesha, Timothy (Paige) Rickett of Illinois, Randy Rickett of Illinois, Jake Rickett of Waukesha, Susan (Shaphan-Marrs) Nabong of Waukesha, and Jeremiah Rickett of Waukesha; and a great-granddaughter, Emmalena Lopez. He is further survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gwen Rickett, and two dear children in infancy, Timothy and Susan Beth.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
