DeeLila Murray, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at her home with her loving husband by her side.
DeeLila was born on April 2, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Bernhard and Lorraine (Hrycyna) Bartz. She was raised in Forrest County, WI and later moved to the Oshkosh area and graduated high school in Oshkosh with the class of 1961. On November 24, 1973 DeeLila was united in marriage to Gerald Murray at the First United Methodist Church in Waukesha and the two would go on to enjoy over 50 years of marriage together. DeeLila did clerical work for the majority of her working career for a few different companies. She finished her working career in the grocery industry working for Pick’n Save. For leisure and during her retirement, she greatly enjoyed gardening and working around her home. DeeLila had a special connection with animals, especially her pet cats. She also loved to observe birds, turkeys, deer and other wild animals in her yard. She admired their beauty and she appreciated the majesty of nature and God’s creation. DeeLila was also a member of the Rob Morris Eastern Star Palmyra Chapter and the Fort Atkinson Chapter of the Red Hat Society. DeeLila will be deeply missed.
She is survived by: her loving husband, Gerald Murray of Palmyra, WI; her two sisters, Barbara (John) Gorczany of Mequon, WI, and Helene Kace of El Dorado Hills, CA. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial donations in DeeLila’s honor may be made to the Wildlife in Need Center of Oconomowoc, WI, the Humane Society of Jefferson County, WI or a charity of one’s choice.
A Memorial Service to honor DeeLila’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Monday December 4, 2023 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Palmyra, WI (320 W. Main St. Palmyra, WI 53156). Chaplain Steve Steele will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
