Delores J. O'Grady

Delores J. O’Grady, 79, of Dousman, WI passed away on June 24, 2023 at her home.

Delores was born on August 25, 1943 the daughter of Delbert and Jeanne (Reed) Burrington. After her schooling, Delores was united in marriage to Douglas O’Grady on January 24, 1959 in Illinois and the two would go on to enjoy 64 years of marriage together. The Lord blessed Delores and Doug with four children, DuWayne, Denise, Denyel and DeAnna. Delores worked in a few different capacities during her life. She sold Avon Cosmetics for many years and enjoyed that work very much. She also worked at the Powers Memorial Library of Palmyra, and for a time organized estate sales. Most recently she worked at Universal Electronics in Whitewater, retiring in 2010. The job Delores enjoyed most was being a wife to her husband and a loving mother to her children. Delores had a sassy and fun personality and never hesitated to “tell it like it is” but always with a smile and a warm laugh. Some of her best times were spent traveling. She and her husband were able to travel extensively across the United States as well as Canada and South America and they made many wonderful memories together. Delores was a wonderful lady and she will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by: her loving husband, Douglas O’Grady of Dousman; two children, DuWayne O’Grady of Waukesha, and DeAnna (Jeffrey) Duesterbeck of Whitewater; her grandchildren, DuWayne, Jr., Valerie, Derek, Desireѐ, Shawn, Brenden, DeAndra, Drake, and Logan; and her great-grandchildren, Francis, Felix, Amaree, Evangeline, and Dylan. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, and her loving daughters, Denise and Denyel.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Palmyra, WI (320 W. Main St. Palmyra, WI 53156). The Rev. Steven M. D. Blyth will officiate the service. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
