Donald J. DeBaets

Donald J. DeBaets, 86, of Palmyra, WI passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Vitas Hospice in West Allis.

Don was born on June 12, 1939 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin the son of Emil and Kathryn (Stabnaw) DeBaets. After completing his schooling, Don worked as a truck driver for the majority of his career and greatly enjoyed his job. Don was blessed with four children, Karla, Mark, Michael and Michelle. Don was united in marriage to Judith Schleft and the two enjoyed many years together until her passing on February 12, 2012. Don will be remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a friend to all and greatly enjoyed conversing with his friends and family. He will be missed at the local café where he was a regular for breakfast each morning with his friends. Don will be forever remembered by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by: three children, Karla Domagalski of Hartford, Michael DeBaets of Illinois, and Michelle DeBaets, of Palmyra; his grandchildren, Shane, Brandon, April, Tyler, Jonathan, Zachary, Austin, Chase, and Breana and his great-grandchildren, Oaklin and Sophia. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judith DeBaets, his son, Mark DeBaets, and his brothers, Billy, Raymond, Bob, Eugene, and Bernard.

Don will be laid to rest next to his wife in Hillside Cemetery of Palmyra at a later date.
