Elinor A. Burlingham, 94, of Palmyra, WI passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Elinor was born on November 2, 1929 the daughter of Oscar and Maria (Lindquist) Grant. She grew up in the Sheboygan area and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. After high school, Elinor continued her schooling at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She was united in marriage to Gene Burlingham on August 4, 1951 in Sheboygan and God blessed Gene and Elinor with three children, Karen, David and Tom. Gene and Eli moved to Palmyra soon after their marriage and would spend their lives together on their dairy farm. Elinor was a very involved mother and made sure her children had the opportunity to participate in all sorts of clubs, sports and other activities. She was a talented cook and baker and her husband and children can attest to this fact. She kept everyone well fed after a long day’s work on the farm. Elinor had many interests during her life. She had an artistic talent and practiced her art in a few different mediums, some of those include water color painting, quilting, and chair caning. She also enjoyed rosemaling and honored her Swedish heritage in this way. Eli was also a woman of faith and was a long-time member of Palmyra United Methodist Church. Elinor will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by: her three children, Karen Burlingham of Three Rivers, CA, David (Susan) Burlingham of Malone, WI, and Tom (Margaret) Burlingham of Palmyra, WI; her grandchildren, Cara (Dana) Wagner, Ben (Kelly) Burlingham, and Kevin Burlingham; and her great-grandchildren, McKenzie Wagner, Dustin Wagner, Grant Burlingham, Lauren Burlingham, and Gilbert Burlingham.
