Elissa Stadler Obituary

Elissa Jean Stadler, 73, of Eagle, WI passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 12, 2021 at her home.

Elissa was born on September 21, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Theodore and Delores (Dettman) Schoening. She grew up in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Nicolet High School in Glendale. Elissa married George Stadler on May 2, 1978 and the two would go on to enjoy 43 years of marriage together. Elissa’s passion in life was horses. She experienced and loved every aspect of owning horses from a young age and that joy remained for her entire life. She competed in harness racing, raced under saddle as a jockey, fed horses, cared for horses, boarded horses, and everything in between. She was known for saying that she didn’t need jewelry or other worldly possessions, her diamonds were in the barn, they were her horses. Besides horses, she also had a connection and soft spot for other animals and had dogs and cats for pets throughout her life. Elissa was a good mom and wife. She did have a spicy side and didn’t hesitate to tell you how she felt. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the lives of her loved ones.

She is survived by: her husband, George Stadler of Eagle, WI; her daughter, Shelly (Renny) Ohlsson of East Troy, WI, her son, Shane Stadler of Baton Rouge, LA, and her daughter Nicole Wheaton of Cardova, TN; six grandchildren, Tucker, Piper, Andrew, Heather, C.J., and Tim; four great-grandchildren, Devon, Connor, Ava, and Noah; her two siblings, Randy (Yolie) Schoening of Arizona and Pam Henson of Hartford, WI; and her nephew, Greg Nass of Hartford, WI.

Elissa was preceded in death by her parents.

Per Elissa’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
