Gina D'Amico Obituary

Gina M. D’Amico, 42, of Mukwonago, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Aurora Medical Center in Burlington after a long, tenacious battle with cancer.

Gina was born on November 10, 1979 in Brookfield, Wisconsin the daughter of Philip and Suzanne (Cybela) D’Amico.

After high school, she graduated from Lawrence University of Appleton, Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology.

Gina excelled in sports from a young age and was very athletic throughout her life. During her childhood she participated in a number of sports, such as water skiing, ice skating, downhill and cross country skiing, gymnastics, and tennis. She played basketball as a guard and forward at both Mukwonago High School and Lawrence University. Gina became more involved in hiking, camping, yoga, and pilates as an adult.

Gina was also incredibly creative and adventurous. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, mixed-media art, the theatre, and especially dancing. Gina could pick up any dance move at the drop of a hat. Gina also loved to travel. She visited many countries to learn more about the history, customs, culture, and way of life. Gina was a lovely travel companion.

Gina worked as a Massage Therapist and taught pilates for the majority of her working career and took great pride in her work. She was very passionate about her clients’ health and well-being and spent a considerable amount of time studying and learning about the human body and its ability to heal through a holistic approach.

Gina was smart, organized, disciplined and hard-working and lived her life with fearlessness and positivity. God blessed Gina with two beautiful children, Jack and Emma. They were the light of her life! She was an excellent mother. It was very important to Gina to instill in Jack and Emma life lessons and values that would serve them for the rest of their lives: Discipline, perseverance, honesty, authenticity, integrity.

She is survived by: her dear children, Jack and Emma Mahnke; the father of her children, Ryan Mahnke; her parents, Philip and Suzanne D’Amico; and her siblings, Theresa and Angela.
