H. John Feltes

H. John Feltes, Jr. 80, of North Prairie, WI passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

John was born on May 19, 1940 in La Crosse, WI the son of Harry John and Anne (Trichka) Feltes or in his parent’s native German, Sohn Von Henricus Dominicus Feltes and Anna Aloisa Trcka. He grew up in the Milwaukee area and after high school, John served his country in the United States Air Force and would later graduate from Marquette University. God blessed John with two children, Lynn and John Michael. John worked as a store manager for Sentry Foods for the majority of his working career. John was very organized and did things the right way. His personality suited him well in his work as he was often sent by Sentry to stores that needed to get back on track. Besides his work, John had a few other interests in his life. He very much enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Northern Wisconsin and spent a lot of time fishing, traveling around the North Woods and Upper Peninsula. He also enjoyed photography and would often take pictures during his travels. John also had a very strong connection with his dogs. He loved Golden Retrievers and had quite a few throughout his life. They were his companions and he had a special relationship with all of his Goldens over the years and most recently his dog Rufus. John was a good man, and he will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by: his two children, Lynn (Patrick) Gunn of Surprise, AZ, and John Michael (Pamela) Feltes of Eagle, WI; his grandchildren, Jason Gallup, P.J. Gunn, Cody Gunn, Zachery Feltes, and Rachel Feltes; 3 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Diane (David) Stefanec of Oro Valey, Az. He is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

John will be laid to rest in Union Grove Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors during a private family service.
