Jacqueline R. (Jackie) Tritz, age 93, of Genesee, and formerly of Wales, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Castle Senior Living in Mukwonago.
Jackie was born on August 10, 1931, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jack Wachal and Margaret A. Davenport. A 1950 graduate of Waukesha High School, she married Joseph (Joe) J. Tritz on September 20, 1952 in Genesee, Wisconsin.Together, they played a vital role in the construction of the original St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee, where they remained active and faithful parish members for many years.
Jackie and Joe raised three children and shared 30 years of marriage until Joe’s passing in 1980. A resilient, skilled, and devoted mother, Jackie met life’s challenges with faith, grace and determination. She was a woman of many talents and interests, including gardening, cooking, baking (renowned for her cinnamon rolls), painting and artwork, and driving a school bus. She also had a lifelong passion for horses.
Her children lovingly describe her as “a tough lady who was one heck of a mom.” Jackie will be remembered for her strength, enduring faith, and the love she shared with those around her.
She is survived by: her children, Randy (Deanna) Tritz of Burlington, Terry (Kim) Ketterhagen of Oakdale, MN, and Patty Ohm of Hales Corners; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her step-sister, Mary Schneider. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack Wachal and Margaret Davenport, and her beloved husband, Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee, with Fr. Dan Volkert presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Jackie will be laid to rest at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.
