James P. Nevermann, 79, of Dousman, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2026 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
Jim was born on August 28, 1946 in Milwaukee the son of Raymond and Pearl (Marsch) Nevermann. He grew up in the Milwaukee area and was a 1964 graduate of John Marshall High School in Milwaukee. Jim worked as a Tool and Die Maker for the MasterLock Company for the majority of his working career retiring on June 30, of 2003. Jim took pride in his work and providing for his family. He was blessed with two sons, Steve and Brian. On August 24, 2001, Jim was united in marriage to Cherie Dyer at the Emanuel United Church of Christ in Dousman and the two went on to enjoy 25 years of marriage together. Jim had many interests during his life. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater and spent countless hours outside enjoying God’s creation in the woods, or on the water. He also made many wonderful memories traveling the world with his wife, Cherie. Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor and sarcasm, and his zest for life. He will also be remembered for his skilled hands – he could fix or repair just about anything and loved to do it. Above all else in Jim’s life was his love for his family. He was a good husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by: his wife, Cherie Nevermann of Dousman; his sons, Steve (Deb) Nevermann of Whitewater, and Brian (Linda) Nevermann of Sussex; his step-daughter, Jennifer Dyer of Delafield; his grandchildren, Brennen Nevermann, Hallie Nevermann, Maia Nevermann, Delaney Nevermann, Tierney Nevermann, Elizabeth Rogers and Abigail Rogers; and his brother, Dale Nevermann of Florida. Jim is further survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Lois (the late Tony) Stroinski.
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held to honor Jim’s life from 12:00 Noon until 3:00PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Gibson Family Funeral Homes in Eagle (499 Elkhorn Road, Eagle, WI 53119).
