Jerry W. Sagert, 83, of Eagle, WI passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Jerry was born on March 6, 1940 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee the son of Glen and Grace (Counard) Sagert. He was a 1958 graduate of Mukwonago High School. On June 24, 1961, Jerry was united in marriage to Karen Stead at the Eagle United Methodist Church and the two would go on to enjoy 62 years of marriage together. The Lord blessed their union with two children, Glen and Jill. Jerry and Karen were lifelong members of the Eagle United Methodist Church. Jerry worked as a Truck Driver for Fairway Transit for the majority of his working career retiring in April of 2002. Jerry had many interests during his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and inherited his love for the outdoors from his father who taught him these skills. Archery was also important to Jerry and he won a state championship as an archer. He was also a bit of a thrill seeker and enjoyed parasailing, motorcycles and racing midget cars. He also enjoyed making art and was very skilled with his hands. Some of his art forms included painting and wood carving. Jerry had a hard exterior, but beneath his gruffness was a soft and caring heart. Above all else in his life was his love for his family. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and his memory will live on in the lives of his family.
