Joan M. Lobotzke

Joan M. Lobotzke, 93, of Oconomowoc, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Lake Country Health and Rehab Center.

Joan was born on April 19, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Harry and Isabelle (Brennan) Kuhnke. She grew up in the Palmyra Area and after her schooling worked in a few different capacities throughout her working career but for the majority of her career she worked as a Cook and Bartender. Joan was a very social person and loved to converse with others. Her career in the restaurant industry suited her personality perfectly. Joan was blessed with seven loving children, Gerald, Donald, Linda, Robert, Kenneth, Cheryl, and Kathy. She was the type of mom that would do anything for her children. On November 16, 1964, Joan married the love of her life, Clarence Lobotzke and the two would go on to enjoy many years of marriage together until Clarence’s passing. Joan and Clarence loved to travel together, gamble together, play cards, and just generally enjoy life. Another one of Joan’s favorite things to do was spend time with her grandchildren. She was always ready to be a participant in any family activity. Even in her later years she would dance, swim and socialize with her children and grandchildren. Joan’s memory will live on through the lives of her family members and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by: three children, Gerald (Linda) Hooper of Rome, WI, Cheryl (Scott) Graff of Waukesha, WI, and Kathy Kulik of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; twenty-one grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Joan is also survived by a number of great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; her loving husband, Clarence; four of her children, Donald, Linda, Robert, and Kenneth; her dear grandson, Kevin Harris; her dear great-granddaughter, Hailey; and her siblings, Harvey Kuhnke and Shirley Yaeger.

A Memorial Service to honor Joan’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Palmyra, WI (320 W Main Street, Palmyra, WI 53156). The Rev. Ray Bezanson will officiate the service. Visitation will take place from 11:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Joan will be laid to rest next to her husband immediately following the service in Hillside Cemetery of Palmyra, WI.
