Karen R. Salazar, 69, of Mukwonago, WI passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Karen was born on May 9, 1951 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Arthur and Jeanette (Schoerner) Moon. She grew up in the Milwaukee area and worked as a secretary for her father’s trucking company for the majority of her working career. First and most important in Karen’s life was her family. She was a loving mother to her daughter and she had a very close and special relationship with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made sure that her family knew they were loved and cared for. Karen was a very strong, independent and determined woman. She had a spicy personality and was known to be a bit stubborn at times. While she was very self-sufficient and strong-willed, she had a soft heart and was very loving. She would do anything for her family and she was a very giving person. Karen enjoyed family barbecues, puzzles, and playing cards. She also loved Christmas and decorating her home for the holidays. Karen will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by: her loving daughter, Melinda (Lamar) Brown of Eagle, WI; her dear niece, Lillian Rivas of Milwaukee, WI; her loving grandchildren, Derek Salazar-Long, Lamar M. Brown, Janessa Salazar-Marshall, Donovan Salazar-Marshall, and Dondre Marshall; and her great-grandchildren, Zayden Mitchell, Malachi Mitchell, Saalaya Brown, Ahmirah Cobb, and Kaliyah Dorsey.
