Kenneth Marsh, Jr. Obituary

Kenneth C. Marsh, Jr., 81, of Palmyra, WI passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

Ken was born on November 18, 1944 in Whitewater, WI the son of Kenneth and Martha (Kowalski) Marsh. He grew up on the family farm in Palmyra and attended Battle Creek Elementary school through 8th grade. He was a 1962 graduate of Palmyra High School where he was active in FFA and played football. His senior year he was chosen to reign as homecoming king.

Ken worked with his parents on the family dairy farm until they retired. He then took over and continued to farm until a fire destroyed his barn. Ken then took a new path, working for B.R. Amon and Sons as a leader on the stone crushing crew doing highway projects around the state. The work was long and hard but Ken made many new friends there and often told stories about the shenanigans that took place when the workday was done. His last adventure took him to North Dakota to work on a huge farm combining grain. He was by no means a world traveler, but right after high school he got the opportunity to travel to a number of countries in Europe as part of an agricultural trip sponsored by the FFA. He also enjoyed spending time in Aruba, visiting there quite a few times to escape the cold Wisconsin winters.

During his youth, Ken was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting small game and fishing, especially night fishing for bullheads. His Fourth of July parties will be remembered fondly by his family, friends and neighbors, especially his large fireworks displays. Ken was at his best when he was spending time with family and friends and seeing people have a good time. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.

Ken is survived by: his sister, Elizabeth (Ivan) Bogie of Whitewater; 12 nieces and nephews; many grandnieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his two older sisters, Shirley Murn and Kathleen Balk and his two brothers-in-law, George Murn and Charles Balk, all of Palmyra.

Per Ken’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
