Kim Murn Obituary

Kim Susan Murn, 61, of Palmyra, WI passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at UW-Hospital in Madison.

Kim was born on July 15, 1960 at Fort Atkinson Hospital the daughter of Donald and Patricia (Blomiley) Martens. She grew up in the Palmyra area and was a 1978 graduate of Palmyra High School. After high school, Kim worked as a police officer in Homestead, Florida for a few years before moving back home to Palmyra. On September 17, 1983, Kim married the love of her life, Mark Murn at the Palmyra United Methodist Church and the Lord blessed their union with three loving sons, Jacob, Michael and Alexander. Kim worked in the healthcare industry for the majority of her working career in a few different capacities. She started as a CNA at Fort Health and Rehab and most recently worked as a Scheduler for Lake Country Health Services and she enjoyed her work very much. Kim was a people person. For her, it was more about the relationships with the people she cared for and her co-workers than the tasks of the day. She was a light in her workplace and she forged many friendships through her work. For leisure, Kim enjoyed spending time on the pontoon boat, rooting for the Packers, and relaxing with a good book.  She was most proud of her family. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother and she was great at it. Her loving family will remember her as the life of the party. She brightened everyone else’s day with her laughter and caring spirit.  Her best times were spent making memories with those closest to her and spoiling her grandchildren. She also had a special connection with her Boston Terriers which brought her a lot of joy over the years. Kim was a wonderful woman and she will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by: her loving husband of 38 years, Mark Murn of Palmyra, WI; her loving sons, Jacob Murn of Saukville, WI, Michael (Tanya) Murn of East Troy, WI, and Alexander (Denine Anagnoustopolous) Murn of Menomonee Falls, WI; her dear grandchildren, Theodore, Reagan, Margaret, and Sutton; her brother, Rob Martens of Palmyra, WI; and her sister-in-law, Lynn Martens of Whitewater, WI. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Patricia Martens, and her brother, Jeffrey Martens.
