Leo Mehling Obituary

Leo E. Mehling, 77, of Eagle, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at his home with his loving family by his side. Leo was born on December 14, 1947 in Hartland, WI to Robert and Eunice (Cull) Mehling.

Leo grew up in the Hartland area and faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married the love of his life, Eiko, on December 21, 1968 in West Memphis, Arkansas. Leo and Eiko would go on to enjoy 56 years of marriage together with God blessing them with three daughters, Dana, Katie and Connie. Leo was humble, always kind and his patience was abundant. Leo’s wonderful sense of humor spread so much joy! He was generous with his time and talents, serving others in numerous ways and had a very strong work ethic. He was very involved in his local church, food pantry, and various other charitable and Christian organizations. Leo loved the outdoors, enjoying all God’s creation especially hunting and fishing. He loved his world-wide travels with Eiko. Above all else in Leo’s life was his love for his family, and his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Leo was active in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren sharing his faith, life lessons (and snacks) with them. He was happiest when spending time with those closest to him and his loving family takes comfort in the fact that he is at home in Heaven.

Leo is survived by: his loving wife, Eiko of Eagle, WI; his three daughters, Dana (David) Bahl of Elkhorn, Katie (Kevin) Mickelberg of North Prairie, and Connie (Bill) Dennert of Mukwonago; his much-loved grandchildren, Victoria (Andrew) O’Connor, Jared (Nichole) Bahl, Matthew, Caleb, and Isabella Mickelberg, and Nathan, Grace and Gabriella Dennert; his cherished great-grandchildren, Deya and Nina O’Connor and Payton Bahl; and his siblings, Judy, Jerry, Donna, Mark, and Eileen. His faithful dog, “little girl”, Kiko will miss him and their adventure together. He is preceded in death by his parents, dear grandson, Gabriel Mickelberg, and his siblings, Sharon, Chuck, Mike, Pat, Paul, Jim and Phil.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Leo’s honor may be made Samaritan’s Purse.
