Letha Nero-DeFord Obituary

Letha A. (Dimples) Nero-DeFord, 77, of Mukwonago, WI passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Waukesha Memorial
Hospital.

Letha was born on September 6, 1944 in Wyeville, WI the daughter of Darcy and Mamie (Williams)
DeFord. She spent most of her childhood in Wyeville and then moved down to the Milwaukee area
around the age of 10 with her family. Letha married Bruce Nero and spent 20 plus years together and
they had 8 loving children the two would later divorce. Letha then met Russell Galoff Jr. and shortly after
moved out of the city to Mukwonago and would remain there and enjoy over 39 years together. Letha
worked in a variety of capacities during her life but all her jobs had one thing in common, she served
others. Whether it was waitressing, cooking, owning her own restaurant, or working in the healthcare
industry, Letha was very giving and did her jobs well. For leisure, she enjoyed crocheting, watching and
rewatching movies, telling stories, and just being around those she loved. Lovingly referred to as
“Dimples”, Letha had a great sense of humor and loved to joke and laugh with her family and friends.
She was feisty, stubborn, independent and funny. Most of all, Letha loved her family and she would do
anything for them. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-
grandmother and she will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by: her partner, Russell Galoff, Jr. of Mukwonago; her children, Debbie (Daniel) Peters of
East Troy, Arlene Drewa of Oshkosh, Roxie Peters of West Milwaukee, Martella (Cliff) Beckman of
Mukwonago, Harold Nero of Florida, Victor (Margaret) Nero of Greenfield, and John Wayne Nero of
