Lottie Jaehn Obituary

Lottie A. Jaehn, 100, of East Troy, WI peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at AngelsGrace Hospice Center in Oconomowoc, WI.

Lottie was born on July 5, 1920 in Hormersdorf, Germany, the daughter of Arthur and Martha (Hoffman) Decker. She emigrated to the United States as a young girl with her family and first lived in Philadelphia, PA. She and her family then moved to Milwaukee, WI where she graduated from Washington High School. On September 5, 1943, Lottie was united in marriage to Herbert A. Jaehn in Milwaukee and the couple had two sons, Mike and Tom. Herb and Lottie raised their family on North 71st Street in Milwaukee until they moved to Mukwonago in 1976. Lottie was an upbeat and fun person. She loved to joke and laugh with her friends and family. She never took things too seriously and kept her (sometimes naughty) sparkle and wit even in her final days on this earth. Lottie loved spending time with her family and shared many common interests with Herb. She and Herb spent many summers at their rustic lake cottage in Northern Wisconsin swimming, fishing and making fond memories together. Lottie also had a special connection with animals and had a number of pets during her life.  Her favorite pet was a neurotic toy poodle named Butler, who could do no wrong. Lottie’s faith, as well as the members of her faith community, were extremely important to her.  She and Herb were long time members of Vernon Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mukwonago. Lottie was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by: her two sons, Mike (JoAnne) Jaehn of Eagle, WI, and Tom (Tricia Terhaar) Jaehn of Portland, OR; her grandchildren, Laura (Steve) Bowden of Boston, MA and David Jaehn of Madison, WI; her great-grandchildren, Natascha, Kyra, Taylor, Victoria, Blair; her nieces and nephews, Lee (Dennis) Radmer of St. Louis, MO, Daniel Jaehn of Vernon Hills, IL, and Nancy (Jeff) McMurray of Mesa, AZ; and her ex-granddaughter-in-law, Tania (Wickman) Jaehn of Madison, WI. Lottie's extended West Coast family also includes grandchildren Noah, Nathan, Daniel and Aerie; and great-grandchildren Elliott, Edith, Theodore, Emma, and Lexi. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Art & Martha Decker, her loving husband of over 60 years, Herb, and a sister, Hilda Thierfelder.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lottie’s honor may be made to Vernon Ev. Lutheran Church of Mukwonago, WI and AngelsGrace Hospice of Oconomowoc, WI.
