Marian E. MacDonald

Marian E. MacDonald, 87, of Helenville, WI passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025 at her home.

Marian was born on April 22, 1937 in Bar Harbor, Maine the daughter of Fred and Rohda (Lervey) Nelson. She grew up in Bar Harbor and moved to Bangor where she completed her schooling. Marian worked as a Nurse for the majority of her working career and was very good at her job. On June 1, 1960, Marian was united in marriage to John H. MacDonald, Jr. and the two would go on to enjoy 63 years of marriage together until John’s passing in 2023. John and Marian were blessed with one daughter, Michelle.  John and Marian traveled extensively for his military career and also for their enjoyment after John’s retirement. Marian was also content and happy to be home on the family farm where she enjoyed the animals and the beauty of God’s creation.  Marian was a strong, independent and capable lady and took good care of her husband and family. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those she leaves behind.

Marian is survived by: her grandchildren, Colleen Wenzlick and Richard (Samantha) Wenzlick; and her great-grandchildren, Brooke, Carson, Richard, and Jerry John. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death and reunited with her loving husband, John, her dear daughter, Michelle, and her dear great-granddaughter, Arianna. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Wilma, Robert, Rose, and Richard.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Palmyra, WI (320 W. Main Street, Palmyra, WI 53156). Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Marian will be laid to rest on the family farm next to her husband following the funeral service.
