Marjorie Martin Obituary

Marjorie L. Martin, 96, of Whitewater, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Willowick Assisted Living in Clinton, WI.

Marjorie was born on November 5, 1928 in Natchitoches Parish, LA the daughter of Felix M. and Magdaline (Perot) Sanches. She worked from a very young age in the cotton and potato fields of Louisiana and developed a strength and resilience that would stick with her throughout her life. After the Great Depression, Marjorie moved to Milwaukee to work and met her future husband, Charles R. Martin. Marjorie and Charles were married on February 21, 1947 in Milwaukee. Marjorie was blessed with three children, Harold, Timothy, and Patricia. She also had a heart for kids and fostered 10 children over the course of her life. Marjorie will be remembered for her acts of kindness toward others, her generosity, her toughness, her independence, and direct personality. She will be sincerely missed by those she leaves behind.

Marjorie is survived by: her son, Timothy (Bonnie) Martin of Seymour, TN, and her daughter, Patricia (Richard) Hanson of Whitewater, WI; her grandchildren, Matt Martin of Mukwonago, WI, Jeremy (Elena) Mattert of Bend, OR, Jariod (Taylor) Mattert of Fort Mill, SC, and Hunter Hanson of Whitewater, WI; her great-grandchildren, Kiley, Beckham, Roman, Kian, Louie, and Sofia; her siblings, Martha Sims of Louisiana, Billie McCann of Arkansas, Jay (Diane) Sanchez of Arkansas; her dear cousin who she was very close with, Ozel Davis; and her loving foster daughter, Rose (Potratz) Osburn. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Martin; her son, Harold Martin; and her brother James Sanchez.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
