Mayabelle M. Houtsinger

Mayabelle M. Houtsinger, 96, of Kenosha, and previously of Delavan, WI went home to Heaven on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Mayabelle was born on January 12, 1930 in Kenosha County the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Sabin) Majeske. Mayabelle graduated from Mary Bradford High School in Kenosha and was united in marriage to Alvin R. Houtsinger at the Kenosha Bible Church on June 17, 1949. Mayabelle and Al would go on to enjoy 75 years of marriage together and the Lord blessed their union with three children, Robert, David and Lois. Mayabelle worked on the family farm and also owned a grocery store during her working career. Mayabelle took good care of her family and made sure to keep them well fed and cared for. She was strong and capable and was no stranger to chores on the farm such as milking cows, chasing heifers, or working out in the garden. For leisure, Mayabelle enjoyed playing the piano, and singing. She was at her best when surrounded by her loving family making memories together. Above all else in Mayabelle’s life was her love for her Lord. She was a committed servant of Jesus and her family takes comfort in the fact that she is safe with Him in Heaven.

Mayabelle is survived by: her three children, Robert (Patricia) of Virginia, David (Debbie) of Delavan, and Lois of Salem, WI; her grandchildren, Daniel (Angie), Amanda (Todd), Jason (Monica), Inga (Joshua), Crystal (John), and Noah. She is also survived by her 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Alvin, and a sister, Eileen.

Memorials in Mayabelle’s honor may be made to East Delavan Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.

A Funeral Service will be held on at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the East Delavan Baptist Church in Delavan, WI. The Rev. Stephen Hollenbeck will officiate the service. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. Mayabelle will be laid to rest at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park on Monday, March 16, 2026 during a private family service.
