Michael L. Milkie, 75, of Palmyra, WI passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Mike was born on October 29, 1949 in Clyde, Ohio the son of Emerson and Ester (Charles) Milkie. He grew up in Ohio and from a young age was passionate about horses and horse back riding. After his schooling, Mike enjoyed a long career as a horse trainer and a Judge. The horses he trained were recognized for many different awards and honors. Mike had a quiet personality and was reserved, but was confident and passionate in his element around his animals. Mike’s career took him all over the United States and even overseas and he made countless memories during his travels. On July 4, 1998, Mike was united in marriage to Jo Ellen Merrill and the two would go on to enjoy 26 years of marriage riding, showing, breeding and raising American Quarter Horses together. Mike was most proud of his stallion TAMU SOLID OAK. Mike was a good man and he will be missed but forever remembered by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Jo Ellen Milkie of Palmyra; his two step-children, Craig Scherf of Whitewater, and Heather (Ryan) Austin of St. Charles, IL; his grandchildren, Allie, Jaiden, Carter, Cora, and Everett, and his brother, Eugene (Helen) Milkie of Sandusky, OH. Mike is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Robert, David, Butch and Johnny (Roger).
Per Mike’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
