Richard Lee Russell

Richard Lee Russell, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Rich was born on June 7, 1942 at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. He was the son of Herbert and Francis (Hook) Russell. Rich graduated high school from Boy’s Technical and Trade School in Milwaukee. After his schooling, he faithfully served in the United States Army. Rich worked as a CNC operator for the majority of his working career and also painted. On September 18, 1982, Rich was united in marriage to Melody Thompson and the two would go on to enjoy many years of marriage together. For leisure, Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He was an active member of a few different gun clubs over his life. He also loved to watch a good Western movie or the world news. He will be remembered for his fun personality, his good sense of humor, and his love for his wife and children. Rich will be deeply missed.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Melody Russell of Palmyra; his children, Kelli (Derrick Muehlenkamp) Hembrook of Palmyra, Lee (Kristie) Russell of Mequon and Terri Fountain of Green lake; his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren, Dominic and Haleigh. He is further survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his son-in-law, Mark Mandelin, and his dear mother-in-law, Harriet Thompson. 

Per Rich’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
