Richard A. Tavulares, 64, of Waukesha, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Richard was born on November 23, 1959 in Los Angeles, California the son of James Tavulares and Elsie Anderson. Richard worked in a few different capacities during his life including as a firefighter and EMT. Richard was blessed with three children and he loved them dearly. He enjoyed cooking authentic Mexican cuisine and shared this love with his family. He will be remembered for his good sense of humor that stuck with him even in his final days. Richard will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by: his son, Alan (Mel Hajos) Tavulares of Beaverton, OR, his daughter Elizabeth (Jack) Peterson of Pewaukee, and his son, Eric; his five grandchildren, Autumn, Val, Max, Elise, and Thomas; and his siblings, Anthony Alderete of San Diego, CA, and Steven (Arleen) Tavulares of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Christopher and his dear friend, Jim Mifflin.
A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Eagle, WI (499 Elkhorn Road, Eagle, WI 53119). Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Richard’s honor may be made to Hope Center of Waukesha or Wisconsin State Firefighters Association.
