Shelley A. Steinbergs

Shelley A. Steinbergs, 74, of Eagle, WI and previously of East Troy, WI passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Shelley was born on January 30, 1950 in Fall River Mills, California the daughter of Paul and Priscilla (Mueller) Claus. She was a 1968 graduate of South Milwaukee High School and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English. Shelley married Jan Steinbergs on October 5, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in South Milwaukee and the two went on to enjoy 49 years of marriage together. The couple was blessed with two children, Nora and Paul. Shelley was intelligent and good with numbers. She worked in accounting for a number of different companies over her working career, but the job she was most proud of was being a wife and mother. Her family was most important in her life and she was happiest spending time with those she loved. For leisure, Shelley enjoyed gardening, word puzzles, and she spent quite a bit of her time reading. She especially enjoyed a good novel. Shelley will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by: her loving husband, Jan Steinbergs of Eagle; her children, Nora (Christopher Gutberlet) Steinbergs of Baltimore, MD, and Paul Steinbergs of Eagle; her grandchildren, Ethan, Riley, Nadia, Brody, and Bennett; and her siblings, Steven (Anne) Claus of Billings, MT, Paulette (Alan Brennert) Claus of Malibu, CA, and Christoper (Laurie) Claus of Oconomowoc. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Claus.

Per Shelley’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
