Sieglinde T. Hurd, 85, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 at her home.
Sieglinde was born on February 11, 1940 in Landshut, Germany the daughter of Hans and Barbara (Kramer) Klemenz. Sieglinde spent her childhood in Germany and met a young soldier in the United States Air Force, Ronald Hurd on a double date. The two would later marry on December 2, 1958 and Sieglinde left her homeland to live in America with her husband. God blessed Ron and Sieglinde with 7 children, Christine, Virginia, twins that passed away prior to birth, Connie, Ronald, Jr., and Andrew. Sieglinde was an intelligent and capable lady, often putting others in front of herself. She took excellent care of her children and the family home while Ron worked as an over the road truck driver for most of his career. Sieglinde was strong, kind and caring and will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by: her loving husband of 66 years, Ronald Hurd of Fort Atkinson, her children, Christine (the late Elmer) Horwath of Jefferson, Virginia Hilt of Jefferson, Connie (Jim) Zimmerman of Edgar, WI, Ronald Hurd, Jr. of Dousman, WI and Andrew (Claire) Hurd of Fort Atkinson; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Jodi, Jamie, Mark, Theresa, Melissa, Jake, Joe, Angela, Aaron, Gwen and Henry; a large number of great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Karly, Siegfried, and Gertrude. Sieglinde is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Sieglinde’s life will be held at a later date.
