Sister Jane Frances Aldridge, age 83, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home in Janesville, WI.
She was born on March 30, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Ralph and Clara (Chaney) Aldridge. She spent her childhood years in Milwaukee and attended St. Joan Antida Catholic School. Sister Jane Frances then moved to California for a portion of her childhood when warm weather was prescribed for her Asthma issues. Sister Jane Frances would later return to Milwaukee and she joined the convent at a young age. Sister Jane Frances was devoted to her Catholic faith and served in numerous parishes in many different capacities. She taught school, taught Art, and also was in charge of her convent’s laundry, just to name a few positions. She was a talented artist and expressed her art in a few different mediums, from oil painting and drawing to ceramics and crocheting, she was multitalented and had lots of creativity. Sister Jane Frances was a woman of faith devoted to serving her Lord and she will be missed by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by: her siblings, Marie Wrazel of Whitewater, Larry Aldridge of Jefferson, Mardene (Richard) Wooley of Delavan, and Marlene (the late Carl) Mccanna of Thiensville. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sister Mary Claire Aldridge.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Palmyra, WI. Fr. Patrick Wendler will officiate the mass. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of mass at the church. Sister Jane Frances will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee immediately following the mass.
