Stephanie Mae Gorecki

Stephanie Mae “Tiki Tok” Gorecki, 40, of Palmyra, WI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. 

Stephanie was born on September 12, 1983, in Janesville, WI.  A lifelong athlete, she started gymnastics at age 4, competing for many years, reaching a distinguished level 9. She would go on to have success in many athletic capacities throughout her life. She competed in cross country running, volleyball, diving, and was a pioneer for women’s pole vaulting during her high school years, making all-conference. Stephanie was known for her determination, and always put 150% effort into everything she did.

Stephanie worked in several coaching and service roles throughout her life, most recently as a Special Needs Paraprofessional at Milton West Elementary School. She loved her job and the relationships she built with her students and co-workers. She had a very caring heart, and people were drawn to her generosity and joyous spirit. This was evident even in her voicemail message: “It’s Stephanie Gorecki. I hope the sun is shinin’ down on ya.” She also had a special connection with animals and rescued a number of cats and other pets during her life. She loved turtles in particular, likely because a turtle’s gentle soul mirrored that of her own.

Stephanie was a cherished granddaughter, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend and she will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Stephanie is survived by: her Grandma Becky Smale of Palmyra, her loving parents, Michael and Pamela Gorecki of Palmyra; her sisters, Natalie (Andy) Miller of Minneapolis, and Rachel (Eric) Pelletier of Fort Atkinson. She is also survived by her nephews; Jack, Charlie, Max, Joshua and Vincent, best friends Shawn Brantmeier, Alyssa Erickson, and Jason Babcock, many other relatives and friends. 

A Celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held on June 22nd, 2024, from 1:00-5:00, at her Parents’ home: W1273 North Blue Spring Lake Drive, Palmyra, WI 53156. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society in Stephanie’s memory.
