Stephanie McVeigh Obituary

Stephanie A. McVeigh, 79, of Palmyra, WI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at her home.

Stephanie was born on May 28, 1945 in Milwaukee the daughter of John and Sophie (Janczak) Sowinski. She grew up in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1962. Stephanie married the love of her life, Dennis McVeigh on January 21, 1967 at St. John Kanty Catholic Parish in Milwaukee. God blessed Stephanie and Dennis with three children, Dennis, Jr., Linda and Colleen. Dennis and Stephanie spent the first years of their marriage in the Milwaukee area before moving out to Palmyra in 1983. Stephanie worked in a few different positions during her career, mostly in the manufacturing industry, retiring in 2010. Her favorite job was being a wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. Stephanie was very proud of her family and took excellent care of them all. For leisure, she enjoyed bowling, gambling, spending time with her pets, and listening to music. She enjoyed Billy Idol, and Josh Groban to name a few, but her all-time favorite was Barry Manilow. Stephanie was strong and had an opinionated personality. She could be a bit spicy, but had a heart of gold and genuinely cared for others. She will be sincerely missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by: her loving husband, Dennis McVeigh, Sr. of Palmyra; her three children, Dennis (Christine) McVeigh, Jr. of Milwaukee, Linda (Jay) Roller of Eagle, and Colleen (Wade) Schubert of Port Charlotte, FL; four grandchildren, Nicolette (Samantha) Pierce of Madison, Breana (Robert) Zielinski of Lake Lorraine, Sean (Brittany) Schubert of Brown Deer, and Justin (Autumn Briggs-Teuteberg) Schubert of Waukesha; 10 great-grandchildren, and two siblings, John (Nancy) Sowinski of Milwaukee and Christine (Edward) Yesko of Random Lake.
