Stephen W. Atkinson

Stephen W. Atkinson, 75, of Eagle, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Azura Memory Care in Fox Point.

Steve was born on July 29, 1951 in West Allis the son of Carroll and Esther (Dombrowski) Atkinson. Steve was united in marriage to Pauline J. Combs on May 26, 1973 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and the couple went on to enjoy 53 years of marriage together. Steve worked as a truck driver and enjoyed a long career in the trucking industry, retiring in 2012. Steve was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and loved to go on road trips to many different MLB ballparks. He also was very passionate about music and loved oldies from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. He even ran his own radio station on LIVE 365.COM dedicated to the music he loved. Steve was also a giving person and volunteered to drive for seniors during his retirement years. Above all else in Steve’s life was his love for his family. He was a good man and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by: his wife, Pauline Atkinson of Eagle; his brother-in-law, Bob Welch of Racine; and his niece, Jodie Borak of Greenfield. He is further survived by a number of other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his beloved dog, Millie. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Barbara (Ed) Krultz, Charles Atkinson, Thomas Atkinson, Margaret Welch, and Amy (Bob) Slack. 

Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Eagle (499 Elkhorn Road, Eagle, WI 53119). Visitation will take place from 3:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
