Sue Carol Omdoll

Sue Carol Omdoll, 83, of Palmyra, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Watertown Health Care Center.

Sue was born on June 25, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Gilbert and Evelyn (Weyker) Schroeder. She grew up in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Washington High School. On May 9, 1959, Sue was united in marriage to Bruce J. Omdoll, Sr. at the Reformation Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Bruce and Sue would go on to enjoy 62 years of marriage together until his passing in 2021. Sue and Bruce were blessed with six loving children, Bruce Jr., Linda, Lisa, Lora, John, and Shari. First and foremost in Sue’s life was her love for her family. She took excellent care of her husband and her children and made sure they all were well fed and had what they needed. She made a breakfast every morning and a dinner every night and the meals were always delicious! She was a very involved mom and served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years and was always willing to do what she could to assist the local Girl Scout troop. When Sue’s children were older, she worked as an Admitting Clerk for St. Joseph’s Hospital of Milwaukee and she enjoyed her work there very much. For leisure, Sue enjoyed watching soap operas and doing word searches. Sue loved the beauty of God's creation, especially flowers and birds. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by: her children, Bruce (Susan) Omdoll, Lisa (Richard) Heitl, Lora (Dan) Cieszynski, John (Charlotte) Omdoll and Shari (Kory) Schuhmacher; her son-in-law Michael Lehman; her loving grandchildren, Nicole, Elizabeth, Danny, Ethan (Alyssa), Ryan, Thomas, Adam, Bret, Dianna, and Trevor; and her dear great-grandchildren, Alayna, Aiden, Audrey, Elroy, Hendrix, Mario, Annabelle, and Luna. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Bruce, Sr., and her dear daughter, Linda.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathy may consider a donation to the Jefferson County Humane Society in her honor.

A Funeral Service to honor Sue's life will be held at 7:00PM on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Palmyra (320 W. Main St. Palmyra, WI 53156). The Rev. Karen Klatt will officiate the service. Visitation will take place from 5:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Sue will be laid to rest next to her husband in Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra during a private family burial.
