William D. Beck, 68, of Eagle, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Bill was born on December 26, 1957 in Waukesha the oldest son of William B. and Gertrude (Ridgeman) Beck. Bill attended school at Pleasant View School and after graduation, he worked at Johnson Level and Tool in Mequon for 20 years. Bill later worked at the YMCA at Pabst Farms for 15 years. Bill loved his job and the relationships and connections that came with it. His enthusiastic and friendly personality served him well in his work. Outside of his career, Bill was an accomplished Special Olympics athlete and excelled in Swimming, Basketball and Bocce Ball. He won many metals over the years and was proud of every one. Bill also enjoyed horseback riding and had a special connection with his horse, Jake. He also made many wonderful memories 4-wheeling and traveling with his family and friends. Bill will be remembered for his big heart and his optimism. He made friends wherever he went and greeted others with a kind smile. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by: his loving mother, Gertrude Fredenberg of Eagle; two siblings, Stephanie (Steve) Tabat of Eagle and Steven Beck of Eagle; his aunt Irene Ridgeman of Waukesha, and his aunt and uncle Gayle and Walter Ridgeman of Eagle. He is further survived by his girlfriend, Joanne Cull and his nurse, Anna Marie.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Beck, his step-father, Stuart Fredenberg, and his dear brother, Wade Beck.
Memorial donations in Bill’s honor may be made to Special Olympics.
A Funeral Service to honor Bill’s life will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, August 10, 2026 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home in Eagle (499 Elkhorn Road, Eagle, WI, 53119). Chaplain Steve Steele will officiate the service. Visitation will take place on Monday from 11:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
